I’ve enjoyed this thread too, and hope it doesn’t get deleted. I read a lot but don’t post much. Some frank discussion is good.

I know what you mean, GSM, and I have had the same ludicrous insults on those threads, amongst others. I know they are nonsense, though, so don't take them to heart.

I know that people avoid those threads because they often come down to the same posters saying the same things, though, so more and more varied voices would make them more interesting, so do join in again, both of you?

I suspect we agree happily on any discussion about dogs germanshepherdsmum. Less so on politics but disagreements are interesting

Well, apparently I'm a racist because I said something about the geography and logistics of India.
(Don't tell my Indian friends, please.)

As one of the "3 or 4" who are accepting towards trans women on the trans threads, I am pretty sure I have never called anyone either of those words.

I am also not different at all on other threads, I'm exactly the same and always try to put my points across kindly, the only difference is the subject matter and people's perception of me as a person based purely on being trans inclusive.

I'm trans inclusive while still respecting women, their safe spaces and their needs which I always do point out even if I don't always have all the answers about how to achieve that

The other day I was musing about something innocuous & the busy thread ended. Never did find out if anyone thought the same. Hey ho.
To me, it's like a night out with my friends - there used to be between 6 & 15 of us. Quite often a remark would go un-commented on - we know we have different views on some things but know each other well enough to accept our differeces.

As usual on GN only one side of the argument is being presented. I remember questioning why it was OK for me to be called a communist (which I am not) and yet offensive to call someone with very right wing views a Nazi.
The same applies on the trans threads. I've been told I always put men first, called a patriarchal feminist, that I support violence towards women and numerous other things. None of which are true, all of which are used because people disagree with my transinclusive views. This is the usual method used to counter these views. Not rational argument, because actually there isn't a rational argument, but false assertions and inaccurate representation of my views. I just ignore them. Belief in equality, in the rights of minorities and in intersectional feminism are at the core of my being.
And as for the "Nobody's accusing you VioletSky" It's simply untrue. She along with the rest of us who are transinclusive has been condemned. I suppose someone will come along and tell her she was just imagining it in a minute.

We need someone who can organise a pister up in a brewery.

I have no wish to continue arguments from so-called 'trans threads' onto this one, so I won't respond to the rest of that post, trisher; but keeping to the topic of this thread, seriously - VS was not accused of anything.

I'm pretty sure that she hasn't called anyone a Nazi or a racist, and she says herself that she didn't, so why would GSM accuse her of doing so? To suggest that she has is basically accusing GSM of lying, which is not 'in the spirit of GN', and I am following my own advice and defending her from what I am sure is an unfair accusation.

Again doodledog it has been said directly too me in the past and even though I will occasionally try to point out when others are being unfair or making assumptions, I do not lie either.

I do also think it is a shame you ignore me on other topics even though I have tried to engage you to show I have no hard feelings but here we are.

I do not ignore you or anyone on other threads. I have posted in support of people with whom I've disagreed on 'trans threads' and been surprised when they have commented that 'we have often disagreed but . . .' as though that made any difference to the fact that I agreed with them on other topics.

I may disagree with someone about politics (however it manifests) but if they say that chocolate, or Bob Dylan, or labradoodles are life-enhancing, I will more than happily agree with them.
