Anyone up for a 'Traitors thread'?

BlueBelle Sat 31-Oct-26 11:29:02

Fallingstar there are shows and shows and to take part is such a highly emotional show, with pretend murders, back stabbing, ghouls and ghosties, coffins and dark hiding places is ridiculous if the man has panic attacks. Why they allowed it I ll never understand of course I m sure for him the £40,000 fee would have beckoned him in but he should have been medically barred
I don’t watch it but I read he had a panic attack on a cookery programme 🤷🏼‍♀️
He spoilt it completely for Amol Raman who would have made an excellent player and that makes me a bit cross So yes he did compromise the show nothing against him personally, never heard of him before, seems a nice enough man, but very wrong to go into that show and be allowed to compromise it.

I agree with you as the ending was a bit meh really.

I work for a charity and would have loved the money to have gone to a children's cancer charity.

Michael Sheen supported Tŷ Hafan which is a children's hospice. I agree that would have been very welcome and I was in Team Michael too! Disappointing.

BlueBelle Sat 31-Oct-26 11:37:01

I m very happy with the charities they supported It’s their choice they did the hard work and I bet Reform are jumping up and down 🤣

And I don’t think someone like James A should be barred from taking part due to his MH issues, he is probably pretty robust and able to cope with most ordinary everyday problems and thought that the show would not get to him quite so much.

These are not everyday problems though. Someone who might have a more vivid imagination or be very sensitive might find it difficult to detach themselves and feel upset they are 'murdering' those they have become close to, even though it is metaphorical. Being in the castle and grounds must be like entering a different world. For the actors, though, it could be like being on a film set.

Going back to their lodgings alone at night, it could all prey on someone's mind. Didn't Leigh-Anne say she hadn't slept and she seems strong? James was clearly struggling.

No, he shouldn't have been banned but perhaps not on the list of contenders in the first place. I hope he's ok now.

Maya”s parting.shot “Good luck. You’re going to need it” was a mean giveaway.

Poor Blunty - one of my favourites, very self deprecating. He looked shell shocked when his name was put forward at that Round Table. I think he’s very kind. Look how he stepped back from the opportunity to have the helicopter ride and how much Bash got out of the experience! Medal 🥉

Is it just me wondering if Maya”s gillet is made of tripe?

😂I knew it reminded me of something

I agree about James Blunt, I have admired him for many years (also really like his music). He wanted the youngsters to have the helicopter experience.

I knew the minute he voted for a further banishment that he was going to be voted out.

I was happy with the final three, liked them all.

I think James A played a good game up until his last round table when he found it difficult to lie, well done him 👏👏👏

Retread

James B. is an open book and was clearly completely thrown by Romesh accusing him. He looked stricken!

I'm very happy that Faithfuls won.

He really did look genuinely upset didn’t he? A very tense hail biting ending to the series.

Red lipstick doesn’t suit Claudia🤔

Roll on the next series

Maremia

Are there some uncharitable thoughts about the chosen charities?

Perish the thought grin

JenniRen Sat 31-Oct-26 11:55:59

One thing that puzzled me was how the Faithfuls never notice that the Traitors do not actually leave the castle and go up to the Turret to do their plotting.

Apparently, they are all driven away in separate cars, a 45 minute journey to their hotel, then the Traitors are driven back to the castle. That means the days must be very long, especially for the Traitors.

Talk about frightening the horses! 😮😮🤣

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Sat 31-Oct-26 12:07:32

Agree!
Eyes OR lips Claudia never both. 😁

Maremia Sat 31-Oct-26 12:18:30

Agree with you about James B, Friedgt.
He was amazing at leading the physical missions.

Maremia Sat 31-Oct-26 12:19:48

The Faithfuls winning was an absolute 'Twist in the Tail'.

Oreo Sat 31-Oct-26 12:23:36

Sounds painful Maremia 😱

Fallingstar Sat 31-Oct-26 12:27:03

Bravo to Maya, Leigh Anne and Bash for doing the helicopter stunt, especially Bash who ended up in the water.
I also felt sorry for James B when he became so upset in the final banishing, not sure why Romesh voted for him, I thought he would go for Kenny after his earlier conversations. James obviously felt betrayed and so hit back at Romesh which ended up being counter productive.

Fallingstar Sat 31-Oct-26 12:31:43

I haven’t watched any other Traitor shows and wonder if contestants ever get so heated that they fall out with each other or have blazing rows, obviously they edit a lot so maybe they would never show it.

Graphite Sat 31-Oct-26 12:35:51

It was Richard who suggested James A to go to that second-night encounter in the chapel. Maya suggested Amol, Romesh and Bella as possible recruits. They agreed that both James A and Amol were going after Richard so their objective was to take the heat from him.

Both James A and Amol made good cases to be recruited rather than be murdered. James emphasised how hard he had been going for Richard and that nobody would suspect him of not being a Faithful. Amol’s pitch was more about his ability as a journalist to sniff out lies.

After that, Maya said she was 50:50 about who to chose. Richard deferred to her for the decision but it was him who put James A in the frame in the first place after his own stupid declaration that he was a Traitor. If anyone was to blame for putting James A in a position he never wanted to be in, it was Richard.

James A has (relatively recently, I think) been diagnosed as autistic. That can manifest in different ways but thinking back, he’s made fairly frequent appearances on WILTY and, as far I can recall, has always recounted stories that have been true. So does his autism mean he finds it impossible to lie?

We don’t see all that goes on but I do think Maya was angry with James A after he refused to move during the shield-building task, so maybe there had been some off-camera unpleasantness which can cause stress overload in someone with autism.

As an aside, something that was never resolved was Miranda’s wobbling floorboard theory during that mission. She was positioned between Maya and Joanne but only ever pointed the finger at Joanne who was to her left and not Maya who was to her right. The Faithful could have banished her much earlier.

Fallingstar Sat 31-Oct-26 12:42:23

Graphite it is generally accepted that high functioning people with autism cannot lie but I think is more a case of having no filter so often they can say something inappropriate as well as being unable to lie, it could be a generalisation but Chris Packham has also been hauled up for being too outspoken and has on occasion said he is unable to lie.
