Good Morning Everyone,
Its dry and bright start here in Brackley this morning.
Apart from being 73 today , I am OK .
Today, will be a quiet day , and will have a fry up breakfast for a change.
Yesterdays trip was OK ,with odd showers , which spoilt drinking and eating out in a cafe , as like most customers headed for tables with umbrellas , the flea market closed earlier , as most stall holders do not have gazebos , otherwise a nice trip on buses.
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from the S Welsh coast, a beautuful, sunny one too.
Happy birthday Mick and Gwen ?
It's a shock to read that you are in hospital dragonfly, I hope that you are sorted out and come home soon, my best wishes to you. For gagagran ?
Have a lovely few days away Ash
Our dryer has finally given up the ghost, it belonged to my late parents in law, so we need to do some online research for a new one.
Hope that Cherry is well and had a good night.
Stay safe.

Happy birthday Mick, and thank you! Xxx

EkwaNimitee Sun 02-May-21 08:40:53

Happy birthday, Mick, you're rather a young thing still! I hope you have an enjoyable day.
Here in Carlisle it's a lovely sunny day so I hope to make the most of it by visiting the garden centre as tomorrow promises to be a bad day weather-wise . I might even give the lawn a first mow if energy levels permit.
Yesterday's shredding fest was successful. Unfortunately, I went on to go through all my files and weeded out lots of old paperwork so the shredding pile is bigger than before. Probably a job for the rainy tomorrow.
Gagagran your reaction sounds normal in your situation. It will pass but meanwhile, can you rest up and give yourself some little treat? Half an hour with a good book and some chocolate ? For instance. It might sound trivial but it all helps.
And dragonfly, palpitations are frightening, I hope you are soon sorted and home again.
It's good to hear that some of you are out and about with friends and family. Mine are a long way away and, frankly, though I've had my two jabs, I'm still nervous about a meet especially as my DiL is an anti-vaxxer. I don't want or need even a mild dose of Covid. Or do I just need to 'woman-up'?!
But..a good day to all I hope.

Grandmabatty Sun 02-May-21 08:41:01

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently sunny and cold. Firstly a Happy Birthday to Mick and Gwen. I hope you have a lovely day. Secondly ? to Dragonfly and Gagagran. I hope the hospital visit is a short one Dragonfly and that you feel better. Gagagran it's rotten when you feel low. I hope you have real life support.
Yesterday was a housework day but I didn't get it finished as I was being lazy. I'm regretting that now! So today I have an ironing to do and the windows to clean. My legs are very achy. I think I walked a lot more on Thursday than I have done for a while and my legs are protesting. I might see dd and dgs. To all you having family BBQs and get togethers, have a lovely time.

Good morning all from a chilly Glasgow, with sunny and clear blue skies.

Happy birthday to all the birthday people, its my future DIL's too.
Dragonfly, I'm so sorry to hear you are in hospital, but you are in the best place. All my recent episodes have taken place during the night and it can be really daunting and scary if no-one is allowed to be with you, due to Covid. You have had so much to contend with in the last few years. You too, Gaga! ? As a clinician said to me the other day: Why does it always happen to the nice people?.

My second AZ vaccination is now doing it's worst although, not as severe as the last time, I still feel pretty rotten. So I won't be be doing much today, but it's worth all the unpleasantness to get some of my life back. However, I was a bit upset to find out yesterday, that it will not be as effective for me, due to me being immunosuppressed.?

For all you lucky people having family meet ups, enjoy! ?

Thank you nannytopsy

Good morning from Cheshire.
Hope they can stop those palpitations , Dragonfly - a very unpleasant and frightening sensation.
Sunny here but cool. Hope the day improves for those not having a good one.

Greyduster Sun 02-May-21 08:55:10

Good morning, Michael and a Very Happy Birthday to you!????‍♂️. The sun is shining in South Yorkshire but it’s chilly. I slept better last night, having been gently persuaded to get things into perspective rather than blowing them up out of all proportion. But we all do it, I think. GS has persuaded his father to barbecue today and we are invited. I think extra layers will be the order of the day.
Dragonfly I’m sorry to hear you’re in hospital. Hope you start to feel better soon!??. Enjoy your Sunday everyone.

Good Morning All x. Happy Birthday Mick. x brew
Sunny and cloudy again but yesterday turned out alright with plenty of sun in the afternoon so I was sorry I hadn't done my washing. Never mind, I'll take a chance today.
Nevertheless had a pleasant afternoon chatting in the garden with 3 neighbours, so we'll do the same again weather permitting.

My thoughts are with you Dragonfly as I know how you'll be feeling and it's not nice but you'll be sorted I can assure you. flowers x.

Gagagran too, I hope you have a better day. All you can do is take it easy really, difficult as it sometimes is flowers x.

Lovely pics Ashcombe, a change of scenery for you is a break in itself, just keep well wrapped up.

A nice day ahead for you Urmston I know it will be enjoyed by all. Plenty of merriment ahead.grin

Lamb going in the oven shortly so looking forward to that later with the usual mushy peas which I remembered to soak before I went to bed, cauli and roast. Made my scones so I'll have a couple for afters. I could whip up a quick orange sponge pud. really as they don't take long.

Princess Charlotte has the look of a strong and focussed person who I'm sure will do well, a lovely child. The time has flown since she was born.

I noticed the crumpets got an airing on Twitter last week and it was surprising how many people really do enjoy them. It was quite amusing to see all the posts, though I'm not signed in I can still read them all. Mine are well down the hatch ! smile

Must go and put the washing on and hope for the best so I wish you all a pleasant day in whatever you do or wherever you go but take care and stay safe---still. xx

Hope you can be home today Dragonfly, take things easy x

Good morning from sunny Colchester.

Happy Birthday Mick ??

We had rain yesterday. Not a lot but enough to cheer the garden up. I've got some washing onto the line as more rain is promised later and tomorrow is forecast to be wet too.
DH is out for the day getting one of his voluntary groups ready for re opening. We are both happy to have some space. He'll come home to a roast chicken dinner.

Big hugs to all, especially dragonfly and gaga flowers

Good morning from a bright and sunny ? East Northants here at DD's. Looks quite still outside for a change.

A red letter day for me yesterday, as it was the first time at shops of any kind for over a year. Goodness, I was like a child in a sweet shop! Came back loaded with shopping bags, and looking forward to a marathon trying on session when I get back home. Several tops, some underwear, and I saw a really nice summer dress which unfortunately they didn't have in my size, but may order on line. It was quite busy, but surprisingly I wasn't worried and felt ok with DD - think she gives me confidence to do things. We found an outdoor coffee van with tables and I enjoyed my first proper cappuccino for a year!

Not sure what plans are afoot for today but I thought I heard mention of the garden centre. Then it will be home for me late afternoon.

Happy May Sunday to all, and a happy birthday ? to Mick!

EllanVannin Sun 02-May-21 09:02:28

Isn't it strange that we feel real sympathy for our poorly grans ?
I usually spend the day wondering how they're getting on----and most of us have never met.

Stilllearning Sun 02-May-21 09:02:42

Morning from S Lanarkshire, sunny here but cold of course!
Happy Birthday Mick and Gwen, enjoy your days.

Lovely photos as usual Ashcombe, I hope things warm up for your break!

That’s horrible and frightening dragonfly, good you’re in the right place to get sorted though.
Hope your day improves Gagagran, it’s rotten feeling so down

baubles, I hope the high regard your uncle was held in is a little comfort, and that you enjoy your long awaited family day.

You’re having a great holiday brook, it still seems like another world to me, but maybe soon.

I had a lovely couple of hours with my youngest grandchildren yesterday, DGS has grown so much.
This has taken me so long to type, I’ll have missed loads but I wish everyone the best day possible ??

Aldom Sun 02-May-21 09:05:27

So sorry to hear you are in Hospital Dragonfly I hope you are able to be home sooon flowers

Gaga flowers

Mum rang yesterday to say she had lost her mobile phone and could I ring it. So I did but she couldn't hear it. She then confessed she had had a fall along the nature reserve path and perhaps it had fallen out of her bag! She is 91! Just rung her this morning and she is ok ...phew! More upset about losing the phone, but as I said that can be sorted. It only had £4 credit on it. Just need now to source a basic phone that just does calls and texts. No-one answers it when I ring.

Hope you get your phone sorted NanKate technology can be wonderful, but annoying to sort out sometimes.

Wishing you all a lovely day

Good morning from the Scottish Borders. I just tried to have breakfast in the greenhouse where I have a couple of easy chairs and can admire my plantlings, but had to come in from the cold.

Oh dear Dragonfly I hope you are OK. flowers

Gagagran It has been such a hard year for you. No wonder you have no energy. Take it easy and be kind to yourself.

May is a popular month for birthdays.
I had a lovely day yesterday when DD and her family came for lunch. It was sunny, if not hot, and there was much running about and laughter.

Welcome grannytilly

Sending good wishes to you all.
